Buyers beware. Despite the promises made by Allen Jackson, Graham Pyle and his son (Simon Pyle) from
Countryside International (aka Florida Countryside)
of representation and protection, they have distinctly failed to look after my interests, at huge personal cost to me.
Back in September 2004 my wife and I purchased an Off Plan plot on the Millbrook Manor development from a company called Platinum Properties of
Central Florida Inc. We selected Florida Countryside as our agent after seeing them on Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun & on
ITV's I want that house, believing them to be a reputable company who would protect our interests.
Last week Platinum Properties of Central Florida Inc. applied for bankruptcy. Despite
Countryside International’s promises, they have materially
failed to look after our interests throughout the last 3 years, resulting in our eventual loss of the 10% deposit at a cost to date
(3rd October 2007) of £19,335.33.
I am publicising my story so that others may learn from my experience.

Property in Turkey no longer a good investment.
Just got back from Side in Turkey, good weather, friendly locals, interesting history and some attractive scenery.
But unfortunately the investment opportunities for holiday property have now just about gone.
In recent years the Turkish holiday property builds have boomed, but the rental demand has not materialized resulting in
massive over supply. I also found a complete lack of regard to native building traditions and culture in the rush to build,
resulting in unsympathetic developments, urban sprawl, and in the later projects, cramped developments to maximise profit for the developer.
I also found unrealistic property prices quoted to foreign visitors, compared to the Turkish domestic market.
All the above, together with the current uncertainties in the economic climate makes Turkey a poor investment opportunity.
